Bikes deserve better than leaning against a wall, blocking a hallway, or taking over valuable floor space.
For Black & White Zebra, we designed and fabricated a custom slot pegboard bike wall that turns bike storage into a clean, adaptable display. Rather than relying on a fixed, off-the-shelf rack, this wall was built to make the bikes feel intentional in the space while allowing the layout to evolve over time.
A flexible approach to bike storage
Every bike storage setup is different. The number of bikes, their frames, the available wall area, and the surrounding space all affect what will work.
This project called for a wall-mounted system that could keep up to 5 bikes elevated, organized, and visually integrated with the rest of the space. We designed a modular plywood slot pegboard that accepts adjustable bike mounts, giving the client flexibility to position bikes where they need them rather than committing to one permanent configuration.

Why a slot pegboard?
A standard bike rack solves one problem: it holds a bike in one predetermined place. A slot pegboard system is more useful because it creates options.
The slots allow the bike mounts to be repositioned as needs change. Whether the wall is used for a different bike, a new layout, or additional gear storage, the system can be adapted without replacing the entire installation.

Durable Hexa Ply bike mounts
The adjustable bike mounts are made from Hexa Ply, a durable birch plywood with a weather-resistant phenolic surface. It is a practical choice for bike contact points and spaces exposed to everyday moisture, dirt, and wear.
While the bike wall is designed primarily for interior use, Hexa Ply provides a more resilient finish than standard birch plywood for the mounts themselves.
Designed and made in Vancouver
This bike wall was designed and CNC fabricated by Klo Lab in Vancouver. We work with plywood because it is durable, warm, and capable of becoming something far more refined than a utility-storage solution.
The system is made as a custom project, which means it can be tailored to the wall dimensions, number of bikes, preferred finish, and intended use. It can be designed as a single wall panel or as a larger modular installation.

Storage that can change with the space
The strongest part of a modular storage wall is that it does not lock the client into one answer forever.
Bike mounts can be adjusted as the collection changes. Accessories and gear can be incorporated into the layout. A custom configuration can be designed around a narrow wall, a retail display, a studio entrance, or a larger storage room.
This is especially useful in spaces where floor area matters. Moving bikes onto the wall creates more usable room while making access easier.
