Custom Plexiglass Case with Sliding Doors and Shelves

We had a blast creating this custom plexiglass bakery display case to house some delectable treats. Our client requested a sliding door feature as well as removable shelves that can be used both inside and outside of the display case.

After finalizing the design, we got to work cutting the parts for the plexiglass display case. We adhere the display case sides using acrylic cement which bonds the plexiglass together permanently.

The bond is formed by first softening the surfaces and then fusing them together when the solvent dissipates. The initial bond forms within minutes, followed by a continuous rise in strength over the next few hours. The bond strength will be between 65 – 80% within 24 – 72 hours. Strength will continue to increase for several weeks. Yeah… we nerd out on this stuff.

This plexiglass display case measures 44” W x 16” D x 14” H and allows for easy access to the goods via the sliding doors. The removable shelves can be used to showcase even more delectable treats.
